The Presidents Report

Firstly , Thank you to everyone who has supported our new direction.

The new committee have worked hard during the year on trying to make our events more professional and importantly more fun for everyone, from your feedback we are beginning to see this come to fruition.

Our sport has stagnated over the last 10 years and the time has come to take action and create a positive momentum for the next season and the future.

We received a lot of positive feedback with regards to the NZGP and Levels Nationals.
From the standard of food to the VIP lounge and Vendor displays , the meeting had atmosphere off and on the track. There were some things we could and would do better next time , everyone is learning.
We believe 2011 NZGP will be bigger and better, we gained a lot experience running the 2010 event and can only improve how we do things for next year. The NZGP meeting can easily become New Zealand's premium motorcycle racing event , and this is our aim. Ruapuna will be under going a major development this year with new garages and lounges replacing the existing units, the current units will be relocated. These improvements can only add to the image and profile of our sport.
Yes, we have our critics , people who are happy to sit in the trenches firing shots , this negative mind set is why our sport has struggled in the past , the elected Committee will continue to make decisions for the well being of motorcycle road racing in Canterbury and the members who elected us, the opinions of a few disgruntled former Committee members and officials are irrelevant.

As members and riders it is important you are proud of the way we operate as a Club just as we are proud of you when you race hard and fly the flag for Motorcycling Canterbury at Club and National levels of competition, we are all in this together and are all responsible for the well being and future of our sport.

The Streetstock Class is growing in numbers and proffesionalism, the presentation of such riders as Jake Lewis and Johnny Small is a credit to not only to themselves but also to the Club and the Streetstock community.

Alister Hoogie leads the 125 national championship.
James Hoogie is only 3 points behind Geoff Booth in the Pro Twin Class with
Jason Cameron and Jay Lawrence having a firm hold on 3rd and 4th.
Dave Annan and Warrick Demmocks are firmly placed in 2nd for the NZ sidercar title after some consistent riding at the two South Island rounds.
James Smith leads the 600 class and is 3rd in Superbike, John Ross maintains 3rd in 600 with Dennis Charlett and Jay Lawrence 6th and 7th respectively.

All the above riders are Motorcycling Canterbury riders, these guys will head to Manfield for Rnd 4 Feb the 27th/28th, we wish them all the best for the remaining 2 race Meetings, are proud to have such a great Motorcycling Canterbury representation at the top level, go for it guys!

We have our Training Day next Saturday the 13th, If you would like to help out please send me an email, we are looking for experienced riders to supervise and assist ontrack, if you have a bike and would be willing to provide some assistance contact me at
